Philanthropic Giving: Considerations in Establishing Foundations in Israel (Executive Summary)

The report explores the considerations philanthropists encounter when deciding to establish a philanthropic foundation in Israel using various legal vehicles for giving. It focuses on the factors that may lead individuals or families in Israel to establish philanthropic foundations with the intention of providing financial resources, assets, or capital.

The need to examine these questions arises from the ongoing discussions in Israel’s philanthropic field among donors, foundations, infrastructure organizations and policy makers. The conversations revolve around the increasing number of high-net-worth individuals in Israel and the desire to encourage their social involvement and support for civil society organizations through donations administered by different organizational forms.
